Kim Jong-un invents ‘hangoverless’ alcoholic drink
North Korea’s Supreme Leader has overseen the production of a ginseng root-infused liquor which is ‘suave and causes no hangover’, the state-owned Pyongyang Times has reported.

Called Koryo Liquor, the drink is reportedly made using burnt rice in place of sugar, somehow eliminating its bitter taste along with any risks of a hangover.
Koryo liquor has been produced by the Taedonggang Foodstuff Factory, which has devoted years to creating the perfect alcoholic drink, according to a Pyongyang Times article with the headline ‘Liquor wins quality medal for preserving national smack’.
“Koryo Liquor, which is made of six-year-old Kaesong Koryo insam [ginseng], known as being highest in medicinal effect, and the scorched rice, is highly appreciated by experts and lovers as it is suave and causes no hangover,” the article claims.
The invention of a hangoverless alcohol is the latest in a slew of outlandish claims made by North Korea’s state media. The Korean Central News Agency has previously credited its Supreme Leader with overseeing the creation of a ginseng-based medicine that cured cancer, Aids and Ebola.
