Brewery launches 4-day craft beer cruise

A Florida-based brewery has teamed up with a cruise line to launch the first Funky Buddah Craft Brew Cruise.

Bahamas (Nassau)

The four-day cruise, organised by the Funky Buddah Brewery and Celebrity Cruises, will set sail from Fort Lauderdale on March 12, 2015, giving beer aficionados the chance to mingle with brewers, taste limited release bottles and enjoy a four-course beer pairing dinner.

The cruise, which will travel to Nassau, the Bahamas and Key West before returning to Port Everglades, will also feature a panel discussion on “genre-pushing beers” with the Funky Buddah’s staff which will include a tasting of rare Funky Buddha Brews.

A “Funky Buddha Pub Crawl” will also take place ashore at Key West’s best craft beer bars.

“Teaming up with Funky Buddha Brewery is another exciting step in the evolution of the beverage offerings onboard Celebrity Cruises, and The Craft Brew Cruise will be perfect for beer enthusiasts,” says Michelle Homoky, director of field sales eastern US for Celebrity Cruises.

“Guests onboard will enjoy an array of interactive experiences from a great craft beer brand, while also savoring award-winning cuisine and sailing to inspiring destinations.”

The Funky Buddah Brewery was founded in 2010 in Boca Raton, Florida, with a focus on producing culinary-inspired craft beers with flagship brews including its Floridian Hefeweizen and Hop Gun IPA, alongside specialty releases such as No Crusts Peanut Butter, Jelly Brown Ale and Maple Bacon Coffee Porter.
