Top 10 gay favourite drinks

9th April, 2013 by Andy Young

5 – Appletini

AppletiniThe Appletini is a bit like the Mojito in that it has been dragged into the urban lexicon as a “gay” drink, as in not manly. It is listed by Askmen.com as one of the top drinks that “real men do not order”, the website added: “This drink breaks two of the cardinal rules of manly drinks: Always avoid fruity/sweet flavours and glow-in-the-dark colours.”

One of the respondents on realjock.com said the Appletini was his favourite drink because “they make me look classy even though I am not”.

Egalite is good not just a statement. Now that it is in Seattle people are ordering it by the case for equality weddings. And we are getting requests for straight birthdays, surprise parties, even to toast the “equality” of becoming an American Homeowner for a French couple moving to Seattle. It is beginning to enter the wider consciousness.

I think you forgot one major drink in this survey… Champagne is one of the most popular drink amongst the gay population.
