Top 10 gay favourite drinks

9th April, 2013 by Andy Young

8 – Mojito

Mojito badgeQueerty.com said “no drink could ever hope to be the true heir of the mighty Cosmo, but the Mojito came pretty damn close.”

The website questioned why the cocktail came so close to overtaking the Cosmo as the most popular gay drink, saying that “the Mojito was the only thing more complicated to make than the Cosmo”. Adding “It also had the added benefits of being a Latin drink that didn’t have a pineapple in it and was served in something besides a Martini glass.”

The Mojito being a gay drink has also crept into viral fun, having featured on TV adult cartoon The Family Guy and the badge shown here is available on merchandise website Zazzle.co.uk.

Egalite is good not just a statement. Now that it is in Seattle people are ordering it by the case for equality weddings. And we are getting requests for straight birthdays, surprise parties, even to toast the “equality” of becoming an American Homeowner for a French couple moving to Seattle. It is beginning to enter the wider consciousness.

I think you forgot one major drink in this survey… Champagne is one of the most popular drink amongst the gay population.
