THE CHALLENGE

• Maxxium was seeking a single source supplier for their warehousing and transport services throughout the UK.

• Their brief included cased spirits and occasional kegs for shared-user warehouse and transport.

• Our solution and systems need to be able to interface with their systems.

• Much of Maxxium’s sales are in the 4th Quarter for Christmas peak.

OUR SOLUTION

• The solution provides sole management of Maximum’s national logistics operation, which distributes more than five million cases per annum to retailers and wholesalers throughout the UK.

• An important part of Maxxium’s sales transacted during the winter period, we provide between 5,000-13,000 pallet spaces within one of our modern shared-user warehousing facilities.

• The distribution operation is managed on a 4PL basis, offering an optimal balance of utilisation, cost and service.

THE BENEFITS

• Our OTIF targets and KPI’s are constantly in excess of target.

• Management of overflow storage during peak periods and a satellite storage operation in the Midlands during the winter months in order to mitigate the effects of severe weather; provides a robust yet highly flexible and cost- effective solution.

• In addition to traditional warehousing and distribution, we provide a range of contract packing and added value services, including re-packing products from large to smaller cases, preparing and packing gift packs, adding neck collars and building display units.

• Under the current contract, we have also introduced RF technology and a new bonded warehouse management system to support the continued delivery of efficiency improvements.
