Last year, Piper-Heidsieck was acquired by the Descours family and EPI, the private French luxury group. It is hoped the move will secure and support future development of the brand and its international reputation within the high-end luxury category of Champagne houses.

Piper-Heidsieck’s new CEO, Cécile Bonnefond aims to put the brand on the map – it is currently the number three Champagne on the export market and Bonnefond’s objective is for the brand to gain greater recognition. The brand continues to sponsor the UK Sommelier of the Year.

It is also the sponsor of the Elise Trophy, one of the UK’s biggest club motor racing series.

    Is it a true statement that the word “Champaign” is the Original word owned by Champagne France?

    All white sparkling wines made in America, etc. have to legally state origin of the sparkling wine as well.
    Example : “American Champagne”

    • all the champagnes are sparkling wine but all sparkling wines not the champagne because there is a wine region in France which is called champagne those sparkling wines produce in this region called champagne & rest all wine region in the world can produce only sparkling wines not the champagne

    The United States was in prohibition when that treaty was signed , they never did! So technically the U.S. wine makers can call their sparkling wine anything they want!

    Sperkling wine> the white sperkling wine from champagne reagion which has been processed by methode champonnaise is called champagne.that means all the champagne are sperkling wine but not all sperkling wine are champagne. Thank you so much.
