McGuigan Simeon Wines

We are very excited to be involved as a sponsor to the awards, and I look forward to being part of an event that seeks to recognise and reward those who have achieved successes over and above their competitors in the last year. Looking at past shortlists and winners, the competition is obviously getting fiercer! This will no doubt increase the determination of entrants to ensure their submission is more focused and inspirational than ever.
Like McGuigan Simeon, the successful growth of the awards has been fast. It is fantastic to see how the trade has embraced them with such enthusiasm, and hopefully it helps provide inspiration for many. In today’s competitive climate it is all too easy to keep running, with no time to stop and reflect on successes. The awards provide the opportunity to do just that, as well as providing a great pit-stop during the LIWSF!

McGuigan Simeon Wines (MSW) has a family’s passion for wine at its core. Brian McGuigan, together with his brother Neil and daughter Lisa are all key driving forces within this dynamic organisation, now Australia’s largest listed pure wine company. The company started as Brian McGuigan Wines in 1992, and following successful growth merged with Simeon Wines in 2002 and Miranda Wines the following year.
MSW’s management philosophy is simple: to produce the best wines at the best possible price. With the country’s second largest vineyard holdings and wineries in all major wine-producing regions across South and South East Australia, MSW is well-placed to build on its position of strength within the current climate. It is positive about future growth for a number of key reasons.
Recent export sales were up nearly 50% and global consumers’ thirst for Australian wine is growing. Expanding sales domestically and globally through innovation is fundamental to the company’s success and 2006 will see more exciting product launches including new wines in the Tempus Two and McGuigan Gold ranges. MSW is investing in customer-focused brand-building activity too, such as competitions linked to top sporting events running across the McGuigan Gold range.
All in all, a busy year ahead: one that will ensure the continued growth of MSW as one of Australia’s leading producers.
