Halewood International

The drinks business awards have quite quickly become a major feature of the drinks industry calendar. In what is a period of change for the drinks industry in general, it is important to recognise each year the category’s outstanding achievements and remind ourselves about the passion, the personalities and the brands that contribute to making our industry what it is – the best.

This is why Halewood International is involved for the third year in sponsoring the awards and it caps a truly great year for us. Halewood International, led by an evergreen John Halewood, has had a bumper year of innovation and product development, with new launches hitting the market including Cherry Lambrini, Red Square Juiced, and Café Kiss. Our existing brands continue to perform in all market sectors, with Lambrini, Red Square, Sidekick and Caribbean Twist we have brands which are all performing in their sectors. Lambrini, with over 60% share of the market, is a truly respected brand.

Halewood International has always been active in the market for acquisitions and with its successful purchase of the Sidekick brand it is now looking forward to developing the recent purchase of the IDL business to build on an already sound bedrock of sales and distribution. We have also relaunched our wine business Chalié Richards, with a five year strategy to become a top-10 supplier to the UK retail trade.

Our new concept One World, a global wine brand for a new generation of wine drinkers has received great praise for its innovation and simple but striking packaging, a launch which has achieved instant success with consumers. We plan to create strong ties with our wine partners around the world and bring our sales and marketing expertise to the fore to develop strong foundations for Chalié Richards.

The Halewood group has been selling wine to the UK market for almost 30 years; our aim is for serious expansion over the next 20. Halewood International is also expanding its operations on the international scene, a major joint venture in China puts Halewood at the forefront of the fastest growing market on the planet, and with sales in over 40 countries in just 25 years, the future is set to be a prosperous one.
