Wine in a can ads poke fun at drinks snobs

9th September, 2014 by Lauren Eads

A US company that sells wine in cans has released a series of tongue-in-cheek ads poking fun at the pretentious corners of the wine world with hilarious results.

Produced by Oregon-based wine company Union Wine, the videos feature a number of exaggerated wine stereotypes including an over-the-top sommelier, cocky hipster and a couple keen to impress through their wine skills, however misguided.

The videos carry the tagline “wine doesn’t have to be this hard”, followed by the hashtag #pinkiesdown.

The company launched their wines in a can last year available in Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris varieties with a 4-pack costing $24 .

  1. Steve says:

These are great ads and make me want to try a “pop top” of wine. Great job bringing reality to the Galactic relm where some wine snobs toil. A dollar can buy the same wine for a snob as for the unwashed.
    Funny ads.

  2. Kate O'Malley says:

I wouldn’t care to associate with any of the people in the ads, they look like the kind that would be drinking out of cans.
