The last twelve months have proved an exciting time for JF Hillebrand in the UK as it have continues to consolidate the business and innovate in its provision of supply chain solutions.

The judges were particularly impressed by the company’s efforts in improving its impact upon the environment and in helping its customers to undertand the challenges that new, greener legislation presents the drinks industry as a whole.

Under the leadership of Tom Yusef and David Mawer, JF Hillebrand has invested a great deal of time, money and energy into developing logistics solutions which minimise the usage of road transport in the UK. As a result, the company has been instrumental in helping Tesco move its wines from Liverpool to Mancheter by barge and most recently in launching the “Wine Train”, a rail service between Tilbury and Daventry which will reduce the carbon footprint of wine supply chains, from the New World in particular.

“JF Hillebrand have really put their money where their mouth is in the past 12 months when it comes to providing more environmentally friendly wine supply chain solutions,” said one of the judges. “Their hefty investment in the
Wine Train has put them at the forefront of their industry when it comes to helping their customers, and the trade at large, understand more about how we can ship wine in a more effective way that is, at the same time, kinder on the environment.”
