Taking place on 28 October, the journey will start in Singapore where Mangan will partner up with Eastern & Oriental’s Express executive chef, Yannis Martineau and create a menu in homage to regional dishes of South East Asia.

The luxury three-day, two-night trip travels through Singapore, Malaysia and ends in Bangkok.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Luke and his team aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express. Luke shares our vision for creating exceptional experiences for our guests so it’s going to be a really exciting partnership. It takes a unique skill to prepare such excellent cuisine in a train’s small and moving galley kitchen,” said Nicolas Pillet, general manager of Eastern & Oriental Express.

Based in Singapore, Mangan owns the Salt grill & Sky bar, the glass brasserie in the Hilton Sydney, and Salt and World Wine Bar in Tokyo as well as operating the Salt grill brand across three P&O cruise liners. He is also the consulting chef for Virgin Australia.

“My team and I are absolutely thrilled to have partnered with Eastern & Oriental Express and are looking forward to now evolving our Salt grill restaurant experience from being on shore and at sea, to on board one of Belmond’s luxury trains,” he said.

“We want to ensure our customers have access to the best food and beverage experiences around the world. To now be part of the Eastern & Oriental family is undoubtedly a very exciting period of our business and brand.”
