The Prop Hop brand was first released in August 2015 ahead of the Rugby World Cup, with proceeds going in support of The Matt Hampson Foundation.

Prop Hop will be available from selected outlets during the competition and will also be available to purchase in mini casks online at adnams.co.uk and in Adnams Stores, priced at £31.98 for a Mini Cask Twin-Pack.

Fergus Fitzgerald, Head Brewer at Adnams, said: “This golden 4% bitter is quintessentially British and has been brewed with a carefully selected variety of English hops including Endeavour, plus barley and pale rye malt.

“It incorporates malty biscuit flavours with subtle undernotes of orange peel. Prop Hop has been crafted to complement foods, such as lamb burgers, so it’s a perfect accompaniment for a party as well as a match.”

The Matt Hampson Foundation was founded by the former rugby prop who was rendered a quadriplegic following an accident during an England Under-21 rugby training session in 2005.

The charity provides money for sufferers of serious injury and disability, particularly those who obtained their injuries playing sport.

On the new beer, Mr Hampson said: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Adnams once again to deliver our ‘Prop Hop’ beer and it’s a great way to mark the Six Nations Championship.

“Last year, Prop Hop was a hit with beer lovers during the 2015 Rugby World Cup and it helped to raise funds for The Foundation. We hope that it will be as popular this year and will continue to raise awareness of the work we do.”
