Spotlight on Pinot with Altaya Wines

Altaya’s annual ‘Passion for Pinot’ event is set to shine a light on all international expressions of Pinot Noir – from Old World Burgundy to New World Oregon.

Four winemakers from Domaine de Montille and Domaine des Lambrays in Burgundy, Churton in Marlborough and Beaux Freres in Oregon will descend on The Mira Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui to discuss all aspects of working with Pinot Noir – from fermentation methods to its ageability – as part of Altaya Wines’ seventh annual Pinot Noir tasting event.

Held on 29 January for media and trade and open to the public including a dinner on 30 January, the 10-wine masterclasses will highlight the different expressions of Pinot Noir and contrasts Old and New World, as well as Altaya Wines’ key position as Burgundy specialists in the Hong Kong wine trade.

“Our relationships with winemakers enable Altaya with the opportunity to bring insightful knowledge and upcoming trends to the public through masterclasses. With Pinot’s subtle yet diverse range of flavours, the wines are great for food pairing and an excellent entry into wine appreciation,” said Paulo Pong, managing director of Altaya Group.

The event will also be moderated by Ivy Ng, dbHK’s very own publisher.
