Cîroc releases ‘Blue Steel’ Zoolander vodka

Cîroc Vodka has teamed up with renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino to launch a limited edition “Blue Steel” vodka to mark the launch of Zoolander 2.

Cîroc’s Zoolander Blue Steel bottle is inspired by the film’s fictional male supermodel Derek Zoolander and his famous ‘blue steel’ pose.

“The Cîroc blue is a consistent colour throughout all shoot creative and ‘Blue Steel’ is of course Zoolander’s iconic pose, so that, together with the bottle design married seamlessly”, said Testino. “The final bottle is something that stands out as both iconic and fun in the stable of Cîroc products.”

Described by Diageo as a “fashion-forward” and “really, really ridiculously good-looking” bottle, Cîroc Derek Zoolander Blue Steel contains Cîroc’s core grape-based ultra-premium vodka.

Sam Reader, reserve marketing director Europe at Diageo, said: “The super-premium spirits market is growing fast as consumers are willing to spend more on luxury drinks and Cîroc is driving much of the excitement in the vodka category. This limited edition bottle is a fun addition to the range that will appeal to both fans of the brand and fans of the film.”

The first Zoolander film follows fashion model Derek Zoolander, who is brainwashed by fashion mogul Jacobim Mugatu to kill the Malaysian prime minister. Actor Ben Stiller will reprise his role Derek Zoolander in Zoolander 2, which also stars Owen Wilson, Kristin Wiig, Will Ferrell and Benedict Cumberbatch, which will be released in cinemas worldwide in February 2016.

Cîroc’s Zoolander Blue Steel bottle will be available from all major wholesalers from the end of this month at an RRP of £38.95 per 70ml bottle.
