Altaya takes on Vega Sicilia

Hong Kong’s premium wine merchants, Altaya Wines has just taken on the importing rights to “Spain’s first growth” Vega Sicilia.

“I am extremely proud and honoured that we have been made the official importer of Vega Sicilia, the top and arguably best group of wineries from Spain,” said Paulo Pong, managing director of Altaya Group.

“We have been waiting patiently to add a great Spanish brand to our portfolio that fit our criteria and our dream has finally come true. This is a great vote of confidence to our group, upholding the standard and quality of brand building and distribution. As one of our principles is to ‘collaborate with partners who share the same curiosity and passion in all things we do,’ we believe Pablo Alvarez, proprietor of Vega Sicilia, and his team will work closely with us to tackle this competitive market that is full of opportunities.”

Included in the labels that Altaya will carry is Vega Sicilia Unico 2007
, Vega Sicilia Unico 2003
, Vega Sicilia Tinto Valbuena 5 2010
, Vega Sicilia Tinto Valbuena 5 2009
, Alion 2012
 and Pintia 2010.

This marks the handover of Vega Sicilia from ASC Fine Wines to Altaya for the Hong Kong market, shortly after ASC announced it had ceased working with Jackson Family Wines and the resignation of its co-founder, Don St. Pierre.
