Australian restaurant entrepreneur Michelle Garnuat is known for spearheading Asia’s fine dining scene. Starting with M at the Fringe in Hong Kong in 1989, her portfolio includes Shanghai’s M on the Bund in 1999, Glamour Bar in 2006 and Beijing’s Capital M in Tian’anmen Square in 2009.

The latest addition, Glam in Shanghai’s trendy drinking destination The Bund, is described as “a modern, flamboyant and sensual dining lounge which epitomises modern Shanghai chic with a retro twist.”

Executive chef, Hamish Pollitt offers “modern, sharing food including vegetarian pakoras and sweet eggplant pickle, “Smoking” salmon and salmon caviar, “Thai Tah Tah”, 18-hour lamb shoulder rogan josh and “ginger-glazed duck dome pie.”

Drinkers will be equipped with “madly modernistic and dramatically eclectic cocktails which use Glam manager David’s own bitters, including Saffron & Spice, Fellini Martini, Evening Thyme, Fire & Ice, or Mrs Peacock’s Folly.

Guests enter through a glittering crystal waterfall, revealing low tables and dark jewel tone interiors “inspired by the feathery tail of a Peacock.”

“We look forward to bringing renewed life and energy to the heart of The Bund with an intoxicating mix of innovative and contemporary sharing plates, fabulous cocktails, and the most extensive selection of wines by the glass offered in Shanghai,” said Garnaut.
