HK’s Petrus to host ‘iconic wine dinner’

Yohann Jousselin, head sommelier at Petrus in the Island Shangri-La will host the next “Iconic Wine Dinner” in September where guests can experience some of the greatest and rarest vintages of Mouton Rothschild.

A year after the inaugural event, the fifth Iconic Wine Dinner will be held at Petrus on the 56th floor of the Island Shangri-La on 17 September which will feature “very rare and hard to find vintages,” said Jousselin.

The dinner which is already fully booked at $HK24,888 per ticket, includes three vintages per course organised by Jousselin under “The Classic”, “The Challenging”, “The Underrated”, “The Icons” and “The Youth”.

Dinner is five courses and consists of wild mushroom tart paired with the “The Classics” of 2000, 1985 and 1970 Mouton; Breton blue lobster paired with the “The Challenging” of 2003, 1993 and 1971; lamb paired with “The Underrrated” of 1996, 1986 and 1962; Wagyu rib-eye with “The Icons” of 1982, 1945 and 1928 and French cheese paired with “The Youth” of 2006, 2005, 2004.

Jousselin said to db HK: “September marks a year after I launched my first Iconic Wine Dinner in Restaurant Petrus and I am extremely pleased to present the Iconic Wine Dinner V to our guests on 17 September.

“It’s a one-of-a-kind wine dinner which will feature a series of world renowned and sought-after Bordeaux classic — the Chateau Mouton Rothschild.  This may never happen again as some of the vintages we will be opening that evening are very rare and hard to find.”

The sixth Iconic Wine Dinner will seat approximately 14 guests and will be held on 10 December on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests looking to book a seat should get in touch with the Island Shangri-La or call +852 2820 8590.
