London wine campaign highlights magic of Oz

Australia-themed events will hit London in April as part of Wine Australia’s “Wonderful Wines of Aus” campaign.

In partnership with D&D London, Wine Australia will host several events including a pop up ‘Australian garden’ terrace at French restaurant, La Pont de la Tour, a Penfold’s dinner at Quaglinos in Mayfair, dinner at Bluebird with Aussie head chef, Matt Robinson and tasting events hosted by wine personalities, Jane Parkinson and Sarah Ahmed.

Diners will be introduced to Australian wine family estates, iconic Australian wines and some lesser-known grape varieties now grown in Australia. D&D sommeliers will also share their personal experiences with their favourite wineries and winemakers and three of D&D London’s wine shops will offer in-store tastings and discounts on Australian wine sales.

Wine Australia’s regional director, Laura Jewell MW says the campaign will encourage new impressions of Australia and interest in its diverse wine offering.

“It’s about putting glasses in the hands of diners in the on-trade setting and encouraging them to think and drink Australia. What better way to do this than through a calendar of incredible food and wine events in some of London’s most popular restaurants and bars?”

D&D London’s wine marketing manager, James Jones added: “With ‘The Wonderful Wines of Aus’, we really want to get to the nub of what modern Australian winemaking is all about nd bring it to life for our guests.”

The campaign will run from 1-30 April. For more information, click here.
