Pernod announces new appointments

Drinks giant Pernod Ricard has announced a number of new appointments including a number of key positions for Asia.

With Alexandre Ricard formally appointed to chairman and CEO earlier this month, several new directors and chairmen have been named.

Pierre Coppéré (pictured), currently a member of the executive committee and chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard Asia, is to be based in Hong Kong for 18 months as senior vice-president in charge of growth initiatives.

Remaining a member of the executive committee, he will report directly to Ricard and is instructed to, “oversee the implementation of initiatives designed to accelerate top line growth, the group’s key focus for development.”

Taking his place as chairman and CEO for Asia is current Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët (MMPJ) chairman, Philippe Guettat. He will likewise be based in Hong Kong and is replaced by César Giron of the executive committee in Paris.

Philippe Savinel, a member of the executive committee and chairman and CEO for Ricard is now also made chairman and CEO for Pernod. His appointment is the final stage of the “Leaders” operational efficiency project that the company launched in February 2014.

All appointments will take full effect from 1 July this year.

In other appointments, Conor McQuaid, currently group marketing & commercial development director will, as of 1 March 2015, become global business development director based in Paris.

Effective from 1 April, Peter Morehead, currently industrial director of Irish Distillers, will take up the role of group operations director, also based in Paris.
