Entries open for db Green Awards 2015

Entries are now open for The Drinks Business Green Awards 2015, which seek to raise awareness of green issues in the drinks trade and reward those who are leading the way in sustainability and environmental performance.

Green Award Winners – 2014

Last year the Wine Institute of California was given the Amorim Sustainability Award for a second year running at a ceremony held at London’s The Ivy. While Bonterra winemaker Robert Blue was handed the Lifetime Achievement Award for his 25-year dedication to organic viticulture at one of the world’s most high profile organic producers.

New Zealand’s Yealands Family Wines was named International Green Company of the year, and Chile’s VSPT Wine Group was given the Ethical Company of the Year award.

Carlos de Jesus, marketing and communications director for Amorim & Irmaos, who are sponsoring this year’s Sustainability Award, said: “Natural cork – with its quality performance and inherent sustainability values – is an increasingly vital ingredient for the global wine world, which is why Amorim have supported the Drinks Business Green Awards since their inception, and now sponsor the Amorim Sustainability Award.

“We believe it is essential to encourage and reward practices with a proven responsibility to the environment throughout the industry, as we ourselves observe  within our entire cork production process.”

Further categories include Best Green Launch, Personality of the Year, Logistics and Supply Chain Green Initiative and Green Retailer of the Year.
