Perrier-Jouët releases limited 2005 rosé

Champagne Perrier-Jouët has released its 2005  vintage cuvée Belle Epoque Rosé in a limited-edition bottle designed by Brazilian visual artist Vik Muniz.

The limited edition bottle will be available at Searcy’s Club at The Gherkin, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges for £248.

Cellar Master Hervé Deschamps, who chose the 2005 vintage of the prestige cuvée Belle Epoque Rosé for this limited edition, describes it as “the most extravagant wine of the Belle Epoque Collection”.

Its design has been described as a “fairy-tale fusion of a brilliant golden hummingbird with the iconic Perrier-Jouët anemone motif” which has featured on all bottles of Belle Époque since 1964.

Designer Vik Muniz said: “Much as Perrier-Jouët has long embraced Art Nouveau’s love of nature and enchantment, I took the idea of captivation in a natural setting as the inspiration for this motif.”

A blend of grand cru Chardonnay from Cramant, Avize and Le Mesnil, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, its makers describe it as having “notes of candied orange, white peach and cocoa.”

Only 200 bottles of the limited edition have been released which will be available exclusively in the UK at Searcy’s Club at The Gherkin, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges for £248.
