AWC appoints new Asia sales director

The Antique Wine Company has appointed Jean-Philippe Guillot as its new Hong Kong-based Asia sales director as it expands its Asian operations.

Guillot has a wide experience of the Asian market having first worked in Vietnam for Warehouse-Hanoi, the country’s leading wine importer.

He then moved to Hong Kong and joined Bernard Magrez Grand Vignobles Proprietaire as Asia sales manager and then export director Asia Pacific covering 20 countries.

At AWC his new role will see him deal with both private clients and trade in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines and Macau and the developing markets of China, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Philippines in particular seems to be a growing market for the company and Guillot’s first job is to organise and host a Château Haut-Brion dinner in Manila on 10 September to raise funds for victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Guillot comments: “Asia is a growing market for AWC, with an increasing number of individuals who are passionate about fine wine.

“It’s a great time to join the company, and to share my wine knowledge with its diverse range of clients across a number of different countries. I’m particularly excited about the dinner we are holding in Manila next month, and I hope many local wine lovers will join us and raise money for a great cause, while enjoying wines from one of Bordeaux’s greatest château.”
