Encirc launches carbon offset programme

Bottling specialist Encirc Wines is launching a campaign at this year’s Beautiful South event that allows visitors to offset their carbon from travelling to the show.

The Trees for Me campaign will plant a tree for each person who visits the Encirc Wines zone and signs up. The trees will be planted at the company’s site in Elton, Cheshire, and each person will receive a certificate and a photograph of their newly planted sapling.

Gillian Walters, sales director at Encirc Wines, explained: Helping producers reduce their environmental impact is at the heart of what we do, and we wanted to go one step further. Trees for Me offers people the chance to give back to the environment and help protect it for future generations.

“Encirc works with producers, merchants and importers the world over, and it’s our responsibility to be as sustainable as possible, and help our customers do the same.”

Encirc Wines is the lead sponsor of The Beautiful South for the second consecutive year.

The show, which is organised by the generic wine bodies from all three southern hemisphere countries, will take place at London Olympia from 10 to 11 September and will feature over 300 producers and six tasting zones.
