Classics to dominate Bonhams sale

A rare Burgundy and historic Bordeaux lead the Bonhams July sale alongside some other French classics.

A case of 1988 Romanee-Conti (£90,000-110,000) will be at the forefront of a Bonhams sale featuring several old and exceptional treasures later this month.

Bordeaux is very well represented with six magnums of the famous 1961 Chateau Latour (Estimate £30,000-40,000) from a private collection sharing the headline at the July 17 sale.

From a Swiss cellar, built up over many years, come more old and rare clarets including a magnum of 1928 Chateau Haut-Brion (£1,500-2,000) and a single bottle of 1929 Chateau Lafite (£1,000-1,500).

From the Rhone come fine examples including a six bottle case of 2001 Chateau Rayas (£1,700-1,900) and a case of 2007 Paul Usseglio ‘Cuvee Mon Aieul’ (£950-1,100).

Champagne, Vintage Port and Cognac are also well represented in what will be Bonhams last sale until 11 September.
