Molson Coors is to give away 500,000 free Carling pint glasses as part of a UK promotion spanning the summer.
Running until the 31 August, the majority of glasses will be available for free across the off-trade with purchases of selected packs of Carling, with customers picking them up from a display in store and having them scanned along with their purchase.
There will also be an additional 20,000 glasses available for customers through “winning moments”. Shoppers will be able to tear off a shelf barker at the point of purchase allowing them to enter online. The consumers who enter a winning barcode on or after the “winning moment” time will win.
Jim Shearer, brand director for Carling at Molson Coors UK said: “We’ve been listening closely to our drinkers who tell us that the perfect pint is always served in the correct glassware and we believe nothing looks or tastes better than a refreshingly perfect pint of Carling in our signature glass, whether at home or in the pub.
“This activity will run in participating retailers during the busy summer trading period, supporting our customers with added value activity and helping them to create interest in the beer aisle.”
Molson Coors is set to support the promotion with dedicated displays for retailers to place next to their Carling shelves.
The promotion will reach its peak in June, when it will be most widely available during the key summer trading period.
