Côtes du Rhône wines heading for the Southbank

Inter Rhône, the marketing body responsible for promoting Côtes du Rhône wines, will be the patron of the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown Festival 2013.

Now in its 20th year, the Meltdown Festival, which runs from 14 to 23 June, will be curated by Yoko Ono and feature a line up including Iggy Pop and The Stooges, Marianne Faithfull, Boy George as well as The Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band.

Olivier Legrand, marketing director at Inter Rhône, said: “The Meltdown Festival is ideal to host our trade networking event this year. The Festival is a fun and interactive event and the audience is a key target for Rhône wines, matching the age group and consumer profile of Rhône wine drinkers.”

As part of the sponsorship, Côtes du Rhône wines will be a Patron of the Meltdown Festival which will include branding on flyers, promotional material as well as inclusion in the Festival’s social media and website with the Think Red Think Côtes du Rhône messaging.

InterRhône will also be hosting a event for VIP guests, who will be able to enjoy one of the concerts, as well as setting up several consumer and trade competitions to enable people to win tickets to some of the performances and cases of Côtes du Rhône wines.

Inter Rhône is continuing to invest in the UK, which is the most important export market for Rhône wines. At the Inter Rhône trade day in March, it was announced that investment will also be made in advertising and promotions for both trade and consumer audiences later this year.
