Bordeaux Index opens LA office

Fine wine merchant Bordeaux Index has announced the opening of an office in Los Angeles.

The move is an additional step in the merchant’s globalising process (it already has offices in Hong Kong and Singapore), as well as catering to better suit the needs of Bordeaux Index’s growing client base in the US.

Furthermore, Bordeaux Index listed several other advantages to opening in the US, including the current lack of any comprehensive fine wine investment service so the market place is relatively uncrowded; it still has the highest number of dollar millionaires and billionaires in the world and the buying patterns of US collectors broadly mirrors those of the UK where Bordeaux Index has the most experience.

In addition: “Opening in the US has many advantages for us,” said managing director Gary Boom.

“We already have clients in the US so now we’ll be on roughly the same time zone – meaning we can give them better service. This opens the door to giving our existing and new US customers the benefit of our wealth of contacts across Europe’s leading wine producers.

“It will also bring us closer to some of the leading producers, estates and private collectors in the US, meaning we can offer a wider range of top American wines to our customers worldwide.”

The office will be run by Bordeaux Index veterans Joe Marchant and Jon Roach. The office has already opened and is based at 7083 Hollywood Boulevard.
