Molson Coors secures Champagne

Molson Coors has secured an exclusive deal to distribute the Champagne Comtesse de Genlis to its independent on-trade customers.

Gary Keller, senior buying manager for wine at Molson Coors told the drinks business that getting a good quality and good value Champagne on board was important.

“Value is paramount. If something is inexpensive but tastes poor then customers will not buy it again. We wanted to find a great tasting house Champagne, which also represents great value and in Comtesse de Genlis we believe we have found the perfect candidate,” he said.

The move marks part of Molson Coors’ independent on-trade team’s work to expand its range of wines, with over 700 wines from 15 countries now available to on-trade customers. This particular agreement makes Molson Coors the exclusive supplier of Comtesse de Genlis to the UK on-trade for the next three months.

Keller added, “We are constantly reviewing our range and where good value, high quality wines are available we will look to add to our portfolio. It’s important that we offer our customers exactly the right balance so they can tailor their drinks order to meet and, hopefully, exceed their customers’ expectations.”

The Champagne is listed at £15.28 for the brut and £18.11 for the rosé (both excluding VAT).
