Cheval Blanc collection goes to auction

A collection of Château Cheval Blanc containing every vintage from 1945 to the present will go under the hammer on Saturday 21 April in Hong Kong.

The 60-bottle lot comes from a French collector and is being auctioned by Christie’s with an estimate of HK$700,000-1,000,000 (£81,000).

The same cellar is also the source of a nearly complete vertical of de Vogüé Musigny from 1967 as well as a complete collection of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche from 1951 to 2008, except for 1968, where none was produced.

Other highlights include original wooden cases of Château Lafite from 2008, 2005 and 2000 which have been directly purchased from the château and never before shipped or sold, and three six-bottle verticals of Romanée-Conti, finishing with the 1990 vintage.

Featuring over 700 lots, the sale is expected to fetch in excess of HK$30 million (£2.43 million).
