Louis Jadot celebrates 150 years

Louis Jadot has celebrated 150 years of winemaking and the 2009 vintage with a new blend.

Using 17 premier crus from the Côtes de Beaune, the wine is meant to show the “great quality, depth and structure of this classic appellation and the excellent 2009 vintage”.

Furthermore, in any future vintage judged to be exceptional, the house will blend a similar cuvée and release under the limited edition label (pictured left).

The head of Bacchus used on all of the estate’s labels is the main focus of the label, decorated with the names of the 17 climats used in the wine’s production.

These consist of: Le Clos des Ursules, Les Boucherottes, Les Pertuisots, Les Theurons, Les Avaux, Les Aigrots, Les Cent Vignes, Les Grèves, Les Perrières, Les Coucherias, Les Chouacheux, Les Montrevenots, Les Champs Pimonts, Les Belissands, Les Reversées and Les Toussaints.

Patrick McGrath MW, managing director of Louis Jadot’s UK agent Hatch Mansfield, said: “Beaune is world-renowned for producing Pinot Noir and we are honoured to be part of this. Consumers love provenance and heritage and this special cuvée is a celebration of Louis Jadot’s 150 years of making great Burgundy wines.

“The outstanding 2009 vintage has helped us produce a wine of great purity, elegance and richness that combines all the great characteristics this appellation is famed for and it is a fitting tribute to this historical landmark.”
