Thornbridge unleashes Black Harry
Thornbridge Brewery, the highly-rated Bakewell-based micro, has unleashed a new ale named after Black Harry, one of the Derbyshire Peak District’s most dastardly of highwaymen.
The beer, a drinkable yet dark and fruity drop made up of four different malts, has been unveiled in conjunction with the completion of the Black Harry trails project which has rejuvenated the area around Thornbridge Hall where Black Harry once did all his “stand and deliver” business.
New facilities for walkers, horse riders and mountain bikers have been created and the area enhanced for the elderly, less able and young families.
Thornbridge’s latest addition to its stable of ales and lagers is 3.9% abv and brewed using Pale Ale, Crystal, Black and Oat malts as well as Hallertau Northern Brewer hop. It has, they say, “a fruity aroma with notes reminiscent of raspberry, a light creamy body and a long nutty finishâ€.
