Brighton ice rink looks Due South

Britain’s best seaside restaurant is to cater at a new pop-up venue overlooking the Brighton Royal Pavilion’s ice rink.

Due South – recently named best seaside restaurant by Observer Food Monthly – will be responsible for the 200-seat venue for the next two months.

Renowned for its commitment to sourcing fresh and local ingredients, the catering team will provide skaters with seasonal dishes such as steak and ale pie, venison curry, fruit crumbles and cakes baked that day.

As well as snacks the site will offer menus for work and private parties, with more elaborate four course meals including pan-seared Brighton scallops and pear panna cotta from £35 a head; to simpler three course menus with game terrines, honey roasted ham hock and Sussex apple pie for £17 a person.

A wide range of cocktails, local wines and ales, mulled wine and other hot drinks will also be on offer.

The ice rink and restaurant will be open daily, 9am to 10.45pm except Christmas Day, from 13 November until 14 January.

Parties and groups can pre-book by calling +44 (0) 1273 821 218.
