Hennessy goes for gold

Hennessy has extended its 50-year sponsorship of Newbury Racecourse’s Hennessy Gold Cup for a minimum of a further three years following one of the most exciting races in the event’s history.

The culmination of Newbury’s three day Winter Festival, this year’s Hennessy race saw a crowd of racing fans and celebrity faces gather to watch Denman power his way through the field to silence critics in an emphatic return to form.

Cilla Black, Lady Lloyd Webber and chef Tom Aikens were all hosted in style by Hennessy in the royal box, enjoying impossibly chic canapés and, of course, a selection of exclusive Hennessy cocktails.

Perfect for a glamorous winter day, these included the Hot Punch: dried apricot-infused Hennessy Fine de Cognac with apple juice and sweet spices; and Elixir, a date-infused Hennessy XO with Chartreuse.

Graham Boyes, managing director for Moët Hennessy UK, said: “This is the longest running sports partnership of its kind and we are thrilled to continue working with Newbury on one of our, and the UK’s, most prestigious and cherished events.”
