Calling all readers! Calling all readers!

We have received well over 4,000 votes so far and will be keeping an eye on the results of all our polls.

IN ORDER TO MAKE full use of our swish new web-site, the drinks business has been polling you, our lovely readers, on affairs of the industry and this month the first two sets of results have come in.

The first of our reader polls took a look at who you thought was the most powerful executive in the industry today.  The results were close but Christopher Carson of Constellation Wines (EU) came romping through the last post with 54% of the vote, though it was by no means a one horse race.

Anne-Marie Bostock, head wine buyer at Tesco received 35% of the vote and Paul Walsh, ceo at Diageo 11%.  The second of the polls was a choice between Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose for the best buying team.

This time the winner became quickly apparent with Waitrose receiving 59% of the vote. Tesco came second place with 26% and Sainsbury’s followed with 15%.  We have received well over 4,000 votes so far and will be keeping an eye on the results of all our polls.

Keep a look out for more at www.thedrinksbusiness.com and if you do take a gander don’t forget to check out and fill in our Reader Survey as well.  So far we’ve been called everything from "sharp and no nonsense" to "alcoholic Vogue".

Log on and have your say or fill in the insert from last month’s edition and send it back to us. There is a prize draw courtesy of our sponsors (Cobra, Bottle Green, PLB, Hardys and Bruichladdich) for those who reply before the end of December.
